Parker: I will be back to contribute

Cape Town – Bernard Parker is optimistic about returning to his old goal scoring form which saw him top the goal scorers list in both the ABSA Premiership and CHAN tournament.

The striker completed the second half of the season along with the CHAN tournament with a struggling ankle injury but continued to play through.

“Yes with the help of our Medical Team I was able to hold on,” said Parker to Kaizer Chiefs website.

“I wanted to be part of the success of my Team and Bafana Bafana. I was rested during the CAF Champions league and Confederations Cup games.”

The former FC Twente player made 36 appearances for Amakhosi and netted 11 times in the ABSA premiership. "Hond" as he is known recently went for surgery and said that he will be motivated by watching his teammates train.

“The Doctors found a bruised bone in my right ankle. They performed the surgery on it to clean it out.”

“I will be in the moonboot until mid-August and will start with the rehabilitation process to get the muscles back to strength.”

“Currently I am undergoing physiotherapy, working on my upper body in the gym to keep the muscles activated.”

Parker has joined the Kaizer Chiefs camp in Potchefstroom.
