Palacios stays as Pirates coach

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates chairperson Irvin Khoza on Wednesday confirmed they have entered into a contract to keep Augusto Palacios as coach of both the senior team and development for the 2012/2013 season.

Palacios took over as interim coach after the departure of Julio Leal in April. Under his guidance they went on to successfully defend their PSL title.

"This will enable Palacios to have a 'see-through' benefit that will ensure the club does not lose out on players in whose development he has dedicated much effort," Khoza said on the Pirates website.

Palacios said: "I am grateful for the opportunities and support I have received from the chairman in the many years I have been with Orlando Pirates."
