PSL shorten January window

Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League has confirmed the domestic January transfer window will be shortened by five days, due to the "League’s holiday office closure".

While the major European and African leagues will be commencing their transfer business from Thursday, January 1, South African teams will have to wait until the following Monday when the PSL offices re-open after the holiday period.

The PSL confirmed the news in a press release, which read: "The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that the domestic January transfer window will open in 14 days’ time on Monday, January 5, 2015.

"In terms of the NSL Rules the transfer window is the month of January, but with the League’s holiday office closure, registration will commence on Monday, January 5, 2015."

The PSL went on to reveal the window will also be closing before January 31, adding: "The domestic window will close on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 17:00, again in terms of the Rules which don’t allow registrations outside of office hours.

"The PSL will send regular updates during the Transfer window."
