PSL Team of the Week 8

Cape Town - Sport24's Tashreeq Vardien selects a new look PSL Team of the Week as the Absa Premiership begins to take shape.

1. Bouna Coundoul (Platinum Stars) - The Senegalese gets the nod ahead of Sundowns' Wayne Sandilands.

2. Vuyo Mere (Platinum Stars) - Despite the Stars captain being disappointed by his side display, they secured a win and he slots into the right-back position this week.

3. Ayanda Gcaba (Orlando Pirates) - Was instrumental in Pirates victory over arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

4. Ramahlwe Mphahlele (Mamelodi Sundowns) - The club captain has now kept three straight clean sheets and added an assist to his name this past weekend.

5. Tebogo Langerman (Mamelodi Sundowns) - Got on the score sheet in fine fashion against a well under par Maritzburg United. 

6. Letladi Madubanya (Platinum Stars) - Goal to his name and Man of the Match against AmaTuks in Stars 2-0 victory.

7. Issa Sarr (Orlando Pirates) - Sarr put in a tiring shift against Chiefs and was awarded with a goal.

8. Teko Modise (Mamelodi Sundowns) - After a lengthy layoff through injury, the former Bafana Bafana midfielder has been a key figure to the way things have changed for the Brazilians.

9. Lerato Chabangu (Chippa United) - The veteran forward has been a revelation since donning the colours of he Eastern Cape side. Chippa now sitting eighth position on the log.

10. Kermit Erasmus (Orlando Pirates) - Eric Tinkler wants Shakes Mashaba to hand the striker a call-up. His display against Chiefs was phenomenal and his partnership with Gabuza seems to be growing steadfast.

11. Thamsanqa Gabuza (Orlando Prates) - His linking up with Erasmus will be key not only in the Premiership but also when the CAF Confederation Cup final comes around.
