Cape Town – After a two-week FIFA international break, the PSL finally returned to action as Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns started off proceedings on Saturday afternoon.

George Lebese’s 67th minute strike gave Amakhosi a hard-fought draw against Pitso Mosimane’s charges as Teko Modise’s strike opened the scoring early in the second half.

Polokwane City continued where they left off two weeks ago as they brushed aside Mpumalanga Black Aces (2-1) courtesy of Thobani Mncwango and Puleng Tlolane, who took his PSL tally to seven goals.

Steve Barker’s final match at the helm of University of Pretoria ended in an exhilarating 3-2 win over Moroka Swallows as he now takes over the helm at AmaZulu.

Eleazar Rodgers netted a hat-trick that helped push Platinum Stars further away from the relegation zone as they handed Usuthu a 4-2 thumping.

And Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits got back to winning ways after a 2-0 victory over Free State Stars while Orlando Pirates struck late against 10-man SuperSport United to leave the Peter Mokaba Stadium with maximum points.
