PSL: No ban for Abraw

Cape Town - PSL prosecutor Nande Becker has rubbished reports that striker Camaldine Abraw has been banned from football for six months.

The Togo international is currently at the centre of a contract row involving Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic, having seemingly signed pre-deals with both Premiership clubs.

Reports claimed the PSL's Dispute Resolution Chamber had already reached a verdict in the case and handed Abraw the lengthy ban, although the news agency have jumped the gun in a big way after Becker straight-out rubbished any such claims.

"I can categorically confirm as the PSL prosecutor that the report in the media which suggest that a ruling on the Abraw matter has been reached is actually incorrect," Becker told Times LIVE.

"I have not prosecuted anyone by that name," said Becker."Immediately upon seeing the report, I quickly reached out to the chairman of the PSL DRC and he also told me that the report is incorrect. I don't know where those incorrect reports come from."

He added: "The Abraw matter is at a stage where it was last week - the matter was postponed but I can’t tell you right now the date which it has been postponed to."
