One last push for AmaZulu

Cape Town - AmaZulu will look to move out of the relegation zone at the end of the Absa Premiership season when they host Maritzburg United at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

AmaZulu moved off the foot of the table and kept alive their hopes of ending 14th when they defeated University of Pretoria 2-1 in midweek.

The Durban side has claimed 14 points from as many home matches this season.

Usuthu are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 27 points from 29 matches.

Maritzburg recorded their 10th draw of the season when they were held 1-1 at home by Orlando Pirates in midweek.

The KwaZulu-Natal side has claimed 16 points from 14 away matches this season.

The Team of Choice is placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 37 points from 29 matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Maritzburg have met in 15 league matches since 2006/07.

The Team of Choice has claimed seven wins compared to two for Usuthu, while five matches have been drawn.

AmaZulu have won just one of their seven home matches against United, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, goals from Cele and Ndulula saw them play to a 1-1 draw in Pietermaritzburg.

Kick-off at is at 15:00 on Saturday, May 9.
