Bloemfontein - Bloemfontein Celtic attacking midfielder Musa Nyatama says his team lost their match against Maritzburg United due to their failure to convert the goal scoring chances they created.

Celtic lost 1-0 to the Team of Choice in their Absa Premiership clash at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium on Sunday thanks to a Kurt Lentjies strike.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns man hinted that Phunya Sele Sele were just unlucky in front of goal, which is the only reason they walked away empty-handed.

“We really tried our best, but it was not meant to be,” Nyatama said.

“Even if we played for an extra 30 minutes, I think we were not going to score.

“We tried our level best as a team but at the end of the day there has to be a winner and we can’t be both winners at the same time.

“We did create enough chances and we also failed to convert them into goals.

“It was just not our day, we have to accept that.”

Celtic are currently in fifth spot on the log with only four games left to play.

They will face Chippa United in their next league game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday, April 29.
