Cape Town - Prince Nxumalo reveals that he has always loved Ajax Cape Town as a player as every young player does.
Nxumalo, a striker who was playing for SuperSport United on loan, told the club’s website that he feels very good about being a part of Ajax Cape Town despite finding it difficult playing lone striker as it is a new system for him.
“I was playing for FC Cape Town and that’s where SuperSport United signed me from. I spent some time there, but it was tough because there were quite a few strikers already," he said
“I ended up going to Golden Arrows for a while on loan and then Ajax showed some interest in me. Now I’m here and I’m feeling very good about it.
“I have always liked Ajax as a club. I think every young player does. I’ve been enjoying the training and friendlies so far.
"The guys in the team play some good football and they have all been very welcoming, which doesn’t happen a lot at other clubs.
“I have found it a little difficult to play as a lone striker, because it’s my first time playing in this system.
“Previously I’ve always played with another striker next to me, so it will take a big effort from me to adapt. I will try my best for the club and contribute wherever I can.”
Nxumalo is set to feature with the Urban Warriors against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Tuesday, 4 August at Orlando Stadium.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
