Cape Town - Veteran striker, Siyabonga Nomvethe, is likely to complete his move to Jomo Cosmos this week, Sport24 have been informed.
A source close to developments reveals that the 37-year-old is on the verge of completing a move to Cosmos following Moroka Swallow’s relegation to the National First Division.
“The player and his agent have been in discussion over the last weeks and now the deal is very close as Swallows will also announce changes in its squad this week,” the source said.
“Swallows wanted to keep him in their squad, but the veteran striker was not prepared to take a pay cut as he feels his days of retiring are drawing near.”
Nomvethe’s agent, Mike Makaab, has also confirmed talks with Cosmos regarding the veteran striker.
