Johannesburg - Edward Manqele has been told by Mamelodi Sundowns to take a break from training after heated discussions between his representatives and the club.

According to Soccer Laduma, Manqele’s agent Josiah Mphono has confirmed that the player is currently not training with any club.

“He (Manqele) was told to stop and relax a little bit. We were surprised. The player signed a loan agreement with Chippa on the 29th (August). We had a meeting with them and they tried to come up with options,” Mphono reveals.

It is revealed that discussions between club representatives and Mphono’s team have been heating up as the player has been frustrated with not playing at all.

“The loan move won’t work, until in January. He (Manqele) will sit and do nothing because they don’t want to see him playing football. I don’t know what they want to see happening,” said Mphono.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
