No rest for Chiefs' stars

Johannesburg - Vladimir Vermezovic insists he will not rest any of Kaizer Chiefs' big-name players for the midweek round of PSL fixtures, despite the MTN8 semi-final second-leg encounter on Saturday.

Amakhosi played out a drab 0-0 draw in the first-leg against Ajax Cape Town at the weekend, and Vermezovic's men are now set to clash with Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

And although Chiefs will travel to Cape Town for the decisive leg this weekend, the coach has laughed off suggestions he could rest some star players for the clash against the Clever Boys.

"Why, do you rest from your job?" Vermezovic told the Sunday Tribune.

"A game is two hours long, why are they going to rest? They are paid to play, not rest."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
