No pre-season rest for Bucs stars?

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates will join rivals Kaizer Chiefs at a pre-season tournament in Swaziland and vowed to take a full strength squad despite their players not having an off season.

Pirates have been involved in the CAF Confederation Cup which has meant that while other clubs have had an off-season their players have had to be on call throughout.

One might have thought that their players would be given a rest during pre-season friendlies but the Buccaneers’ Football Club Administrator, Floyd Mbele, has insisted that all the star players will be on display.

At the launch of the King’s Super Cup in Swaziland last night Mbele spoke on behalf of the club.

“Today marks the confirmation of a bond that started between His Majesty, Dr Khoza and Mr Motaung,” he said according to the Orlando Pirates official website.

“We are looking at this as a way to contribute to the development of football in Swaziland and by being here tonight, we further affirm that as Orlando Pirates Football Club we will be here on the 18th with the full strength of our team.

“It is the first of its kind, where Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs play together outside of South Africa. It will be a momentous occasion” said Mbele.
