No Quayson trial Johnson reveal

Cape Town - Cavin Johnson has denied rumours that Ghana striker Frederick Quayson will be on trial at SuperSport United.

According to Soccer Laduma, Quayson was due to spend two weeks with Matsatsantsa but Johnson confirmed that they are not looking at any foreign players due to work permit issues.

“I’ve had a few people ask me about him, but he’s not here and I don’t expect to see him on trial,” said Johnson.

“We don’t know what’s happening with Home Affairs and the registering of players right now, so we’re not really looking at foreigners.”

Meanwhile SuperSport could not overcome Bidvest Wits in their opening PSL encounter as Amos Ngcobo scored a late penalty to guide Wits to a tough 1-0 victory.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
