No Ajax offer for Booth

Cape Town - Matthew Booth's future remains up in the air after Ajax Cape Town CEO George Comitis confirmed the board could not reach an agreement over signing the former Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender.

Booth has been strongly tipped to join the Urban Warriors and even underwent a medical at the Cape Town Stadium last Friday.

And while Comitis revealed Booth will arrive at Ikamva on Monday to undergo further rehabilitation on an injury he sustained while playing for Mamelodi Sundowns last season, he insists no full-time deal would be offered to the centre-back.

"Matthew will continue his rehabilitation program in a football environment, in this way Ajax Cape Town will be able to monitor his progress closely and hopefully he will recover soon," Comitis told the club's official website.

"Unfortunately the board of Ajax Cape Town could not unanimously agree to the signing of Matthew Booth and will not proceed with the contract."
