Nkoana banned for SSU clash

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town’s on-loan striker Thabiso Nkoana will be unavailable for selection in this weekend’s Absa Premiership clash against his parent club, SuperSport United.

The club's website confirmed that Nkoana will be forced to sit out Sunday's fixture at the Cape Town Stadium.

The young striker received his fourth yellow card of the season in Ajax 4-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in the quarter-finals of the Telkom Knockout competition.

Nkoana was booked for dissent during the clash with Pirates not too long after he scored from the penalty spot to bring Ajax back into the game.

It was no doubt down to frustration as things weren’t going Ajax’s way on the day as they saw a spot in the semi-finals of the TKO fade.

Although the 22-year-old forward now faces a one-game ban, he would’ve been ineligible to face his parent club, SuperSport United regardless as he is at Ajax on loan.

Nkoana has been instrumental for the Urban Warriors with six goals in all competitions so far this season, which will no doubt make him a big loss for Roger De Sa and his technical team going into the clash with Matsatsantsa.
