According to Soccer Laduma, Nkhatha says that he could not have been more thankful to have a coach as Baxter and has praised the Amakhosi mentor for honing his abilities.

“We talked about everything that was happening, and with regards to my move to SuperSport,” said Nkhatha.

“He said to me that life goes on, and that he understands I had to make a decision for my future. He said that if I felt there was a future here and not there, that even if it was him he was going to do the same.

“He just told me to go well and enjoy my football. My decision was based on what SuperSport were offering me rather than anything that was going on at Chiefs.”

Speculation increased as Chiefs secured the services of former Chippa United forward David Zulu and Nkhatha's move became imminent.

Nkhatha will step out for SuperSport when the PSL resumes on February 11.

United face Free State Stars at 19:30.
