Klate penned a two-year contract with the Students last month and will reunite with coach Gavin Hunt, with the two previously working together at SuperSport United before the former departed for join Orlando Pirates.
Klate brings with him a wealth of experience, having won five successive Premiership titles with Matsatsantsa and the Buccaneers, as well as every other available piece of silverware in the PSL, while also making it to the CAF Champions League final with Pirates in 2013.
And Nhlapo believes the forward will be more than just a player in the Students' camp, especialy when it comes to his continental experience, with Wits set to contest the CAF Confederations Cup next year thanks to their third-placed finish in the Premiership.
He told Football411: "I think his record speaks for itself. He's won and achieved everything there is on offer for a professional footballer in South Africa.
"Furthermore, his CAF experience, both in the Champions League and Confederation Cup, is what a team as ambitious as Wits could use.
"We are an ambitious side, we want to win trophies and do well in Africa and that is the role that I believe Daine will resume leadership in.
"We will use his experience and expertise when needed and for us as the younger players, there is so much we can take from his way of doing things."
