The Malawian-born striker is currently in his home country but confirmed that talks will be finalised when he comes back after the AFCON qualifiers.
Ngalande informed Sport24 that Wits have told him that he will stay, but he will only know the length of the new deal after talks with management.
"I am with the Malawi national team now and it's hard to finalise the negotiations,” the former Mamelodi Sundowns youth player said.
“But I will be going back to South Africa after our Afcon qualifiers, and we will take things from there and negotiate the new deal."
The 22-year-old left Sundowns academy to join the youth ranks at Atletico Madrid in Spain before returning to South Africa to sign professionally for Wits in 2012.
