According to a press release issued by the PSL, this was announced after the NSL Board of Governors (BOG) meeting, which took place in Sandton on May 19, 2011.
The chairperson, Irvin Khoza, reported on the appointment of the new CEO and announced that the committee appointed to look into the CEO’s position has finalised his appointment.
Among some of the key outcomes of the meeting was the approval of the new National First Division Rules, subject to minor amendments raised in the meeting.
The issue of the new Broadcast Rights deal was also discussed. The BOG agreed that Exco should start negotiations with interested parties. The remuneration committee was also tasked with coming up with recommendations around payment of ex gratia bonuses to the negotiating team.
Khoza also paid tribute to outgoing CEO Kjetil Siem. “Kjetil’s time with us has come to an end and we are extremely grateful for his contribution over the last four years.”
“He was instrumental in introducing various online components to our administration, including online player registration, online match reports, online competitions administration system and online accreditation system. Together with our partners Green 4, this has received international recognition with other leagues and FAs interested in our systems,” added Khoza.
