Nengomasha: Assume nothing

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha says the team cannot count on past results to see them past Black Leopards in the PSL on Tuesday.

Amakhosi and Leopards last met just 72 hours ago in the Nedbank Cup, although Lidoda Duvha barely came to the party as the Lehlohonolo Majoro show spurred the Glamour Boys on to a 4-0 thrashing.

Chiefs now welcome Vladislav Heric's men to the FNB Stadium in midweek, and while the momentum is sure to be with the Soweto giants, Nengomasha is preaching concentration ahead of the vital encounter.

"We have to maintain our concentration. Yes, we scored four against (Leopards) on the weekend, but we still have to keep focused on scoring," 'The General' told Backpage TXT.

"We will not underestimate any team, even if we have just beaten them. The most important thing is to keep our focus and concentration."

Chiefs currently sit fourth in the PSL standings, five points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns but with a game in hand over the top-three.

"We have to win to keep up with the league leaders. We can't really afford to drop any more points," he added.

"We will each try to win our individual battles on the field and if we do that then we will come away with a win."
