Cape Town - Zimbabwean defender Method Mwanjali is reportedly livid with Mamelodi Sundowns after he found out the club were considering extending his contract.

The Zimbabwe international has become increasingly frustrated at the club over a lack of playing time and was hoping to be released on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Mwanjali has not played a single minute of competitive football for 'Downs this season and he cannot believe the club is even considering the option of extending his stay.

According to Soccer Laduma, a source close to the player revealed he is concerned he will find himself in exactly the same situation next season.

"He is very angry. He thought at the end of this season he will be a free agent, but the news that indicates that the team has an option on his contract made him angry," said the anonymous source.

"The player feels that this is unfair, as the team did not want to play him this season.

"They did not register him and he does not want to be in the same situation next season."
