Mutizwa wants PSL move

Cape Town - Zimbabwean and former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lionel Mutizwa hopes to sign for a club in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League before the transfer deadline on Friday.

Mutizwa has been without a club since his contract with Sundowns concluded at the end of the 2012/13 season, while he spent that term out on loan at the University of Pretoria, where he played 17 matches.

According to the midfielder’s father, former player Stanford Mtizwa, his son is still hopeful that he could play in the PSL again.

"At the moment Lionel is in South Africa trying to work out if he can find a club to join in that country," Mtizwa senior told The Herald.

"He has told me that he will only try to get a team in the Premiership there, and if nothing materialises he will return home, but he really needs to be back in action."
