Musona signs for Oostende

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs forward, Knowledge Musona, has signed for KV Oostende in Belgium according to the player's agent in Europe.

Sport24 revealed last week that Musona’s agent, Mike Makaab, was confident that the striker would remain in Europe with the options in both Belgium and Holland.

“There’s been interest in Knowledge for a while now. Interest from both Belgium and Holland, we’re hoping that his future will be finalised within the next 48-72 hours,” said Makaab.

Musona has been in Germany with Bundesliga outfit, Hoffenheim, but has been struggling to find game time after failing to make the first team squad.

Local reports indicated that Kaizer Chiefs were still interested in attempting to secure another loan move for Musona but those hopes have been dashed by the confirmation of the striker's permanent move to KV Oostende.

The 24-year-old striker has now officially completed a move to KV Oostende, where he will link up with former Orlando Pirates player Andile Jali.

The Zimbabwe striker put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at the Belgian club and will be available for selection from January 1.

“He wanted to stay in Europe and as his representatives we had to make that happen. Oostende is a great opportunity for him to show what he’s capable of. I want to thank Marc Coucke and everyone at Oostende for giving him this opportunity. Hopefully he’ll form a nice partnership with Andile.” said Makaab.

Musona's agent, Paschalis Tountouris, confirmed the move on Twitter:
