"The final is not about me. It is all about Kaizer Chiefs. I am nothing without my team-mates. They have been fantastic towards me by encouraging me both on and off the field," the modest Zimbabwean international said on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old had been asked whether he could repeat his heroics against the Buccaneers in the Telkom Knockout final at the FNB Stadium on Saturday night.
Musona is on top of his game and has developed in leaps and bounds since joining Amakhosi at the start of last season as a raw, but promising 19-year-old under head coach Vladimir Vermezovic.
He tasted early success with Chiefs when he helped them lift the Knockout in April.
Chiefs find themselves having to defend their title in the same calendar year after the PSL season was shortened to allow Bafana Bafana time to prepare for the 2010 World Cup finals in June.
Musona is highly rated by Vermezovic, who described him as on form and consistent. "He has done superbly," he said.
However, the Serbian-born coach believed Musona was still developing and had a bright future in the game.
Musona agreed. "I am far from the finished player," he said.
"I still have a long way to go and lots to learn. I am maybe 60 or 70 percent developed. I still have room to improve and I am working hard to become a top striker."
He was not fazed by the attention he was getting from the media and fans.
"I aim to keep my head down and keep working hard," he said.
He expects to get plenty of attention from Pirates defending in Saturday night's showpiece final.
"That goes with the territory, but there is not just me on the field. It is Kaizer Chiefs against Pirates."
Musona said winning and retaining the Knockout would be a bonus.
"Our goal is to win the league and winning cups along the way will be a huge bonus for us."
