Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge Musona is hoping his wonder goal against Mpumalanga Black Aces wins a top award this season.
The Zimbabwe international's first goal against AmaZayoni in December has been recognised by the league's sponsors and the 20-year-old is in line to win the 'Absa-lutely Awesome Goal' award.
Musona is gunning for the award in order to cap off what has been a fantastic season on a personal level, but admits he could not have done anything this campaign without those around him.
"Should this goal win the award it will make what has been a memorable season even better, I could not have scored these goals on my own and I must credit my team-mates for helping me lift my game and aiding me in finding these goals," Musona told Chiefs' official website.
"To me every goal that I scored for the team with the help of my team-mates is a great goal."
Of the goal in question, Musona added: "It was the kind of goal that you don't practice on the training ground.
"When the ball came in from Thomas Sweswe I knew that I had to somehow get to it and I threw myself into the air and when I connected with the ball I felt that it would trouble the keeper and thankfully it went in."
The other two nominees for the award are Tlou Segolela of Orlando Pirates for his solo effort against Free State Stars and Thulani Serero of Ajax Cape Town for his tricky run and goal against Mamelodi Sundowns.
