Mulenga could spend season inactive

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Mukuka Mulenga could go through the current season without playing any football.

The midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic, returned to Sundowns but he hasn't been training with the first team, but has rather been training with other fringe squad players.

A source at the club told Sport24 that at the moment there is no team looking to take the Zambian international out on loan.

"He is not registered with Sundowns,” the source said.

“At the moment there are no teams who have shown interest to get him on loan, which means he could finish the season without paying.

"Perhaps something happens in the January transfer window."

Mulenga joined Sundowns three seasons ago from Zambian club Power Dynamos.

He didn’t play any games in his first season at Chloorkop due to a knee injury, whilst last season he was on loan at Celtic where he did very well.
