Mubaiwa's baffled by delay

Cape Town - Former Zimbabwe Under-23 players Patrick and Peter Mubaiwa have expressed their frustration with the delay of their permanent residence applications.

The Mubaiwa twins have spent the past five seasons at second-tier side Witbank Spurs, but both signed two-year deals to join Chippa United in July.

However, their dream move has since hit a snag as they are still awaiting their papers before they can officially join the Chilli Boyz in the top flight.

"At the moment we don't have any clue about when we will finally receive our permits," Patrick told The Zimbabwean.

"When we call home affairs they just say our documents will be ready soon and to tell the truth, this really hurts. We want to start playing football, not sit and watch from the stands."

United will face Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout on Saturday, October 4 at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
