Mpontshane, a contract rebel?

Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese has revealed that goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane is yet put pen to paper on his new contract.

According to KickOff, Freese admits that he hopes Siyabonga Mpontshane along with other players will sign the contracts which were offered to them.

“We were supposed to hold a meeting last week to expatiate the issue of player contracts,” said Freese.

"We did not hold the meeting so the situation with the players remains the same. I am still hopeful that he and the other players will sign."

Freese does have cause for concern with various reports suggesting that Mpontshane is waiting on Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United to make a move.

Pirates need to fill the void left by the late Senzo Meyiwa and look to be interested in the Dikwena shot-stopper as well as United’s Ronwen Williams.

If Williams leave then that opens the door for Mpontshane to move over to Pretoria.
