The Brazilians got their PSL season off to a shaky start on Sunday as they were held to a 0-0 draw against AmaZulu, but Downs striker Mphela has promised a very different result at Sinaba Stadium.
"Everybody in the team including the supporters are disappointed for not winning our first game at home but we are hoping to redeem ourselves against Cosmos on Wednesday," he told SuperSport.
"Obviously there will be displeasure from the supporters especially with Chiefs and Pirates having won their opening games, but we intend to make amends against Cosmos.
"We did everything in our power to win against AmaZulu, but it was not to be.
"The most important and positive things was that we created chances but could not just put the ball into the back of the net.
"It was our first game and I think it is still early to be judged on those results. It is back to the drawing board for us and I'm optimistic that we will do well against Cosmos."
