Mphela glad to be back

Johannesburg - Katlego Mphela says he is glad to have marked his return to the
Mamelodi Sundowns side with a goal in his club’s 1-0 win over Black
Leopards on Sunday.
According to soccerladuma.co.za website, Mphela was out of action for six months, but came through a full 90 minutes without any problems at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“It’s been a while. I’ve been out for almost six months, it’s been
tough. Coach and assistant coach have been pushing me hard behind the
scenes and I’m grateful to them, my teammates and my family. Obviously
they’ve all been there for me through these difficult moments,” he said.
“I’m glad I came back with a goal.
The man nicknamed “Killer” says while he is happy to have made a
successful return, he is not quite ready for the demands of
international football.
“The legs were gone, but I had to do it for the team. It was not one
of the prettiest games we’ve played, but sometimes that’s how you’re
supposed to play. Get a goal, sit back and let them play,” he added.
“I think international matches are at a different level. I still need
about another three matches in my legs, but if I’m called up I’ll give
my best.”
