Cape Town - Former Baroka FC coach Sello Chokoe believes his former player, Gift Motupa, has the qualities to succeed at a club like Orlando Pirates.
The 21-year-old made his debut for the Buccaneers on Tuesday night and capped it off with an assist, as Pirates thrashed Chippa United 4-1 at the Orlando Stadium.
After breaking into the national team set-up under Shakes Mashaba, not much was known about Motupa but Chokoe, who discovered him as a 16-year-old during a youth tournament in the Eastern Cape, told Kickoff that his talent was undeniable.
"He is more comfortable playing the ball on the ground and can create chances," Chokoe explained.
"He is strong, aggressive and has an eye for goals. I think he is more suited playing just behind the striker and just in front of Issa Sarr and Oupa Manyisa. He showed what is capable of last night and I think he will be a great asset for Pirates.
"There was no doubt that this youngster was destined for a great future in football, but he needs to remain level headed and keep working hard. I like for the fact that is hungry for success."
