Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe has asserted that money is not enough to achieve success in the Premier Soccer League.
The Brazilians boast a wealth of resources both on and off the pitch, and have consistently reinforced their squad with star players in recent years.
However, while some may say that money was the driving force behind their league success last season, Motsepe feels that the ability to spend freely does not guarantee silverware.
"You know I have said this before that money or resources won't guarantee you success," he commented.
"You can see that Sundowns are better off in terms of money and resources but look it took us seven years before we could win a trophy and I was happy with that because it proved that it's not money that win you trophies.
"I would like us to continue winning but it should come with hard work. This is why we look up to the club owners who have limited resources but have done well. That's how it should be."
