Moriri has been yanked from his preferred role as striker and implemented as a holding midfielder, although his performances in the middle of the park have been far from inspiring.
The 31-year-old looked at sixes and sevens against Orlando Pirates in the first-leg of their MTN8 semi-final clash, which Downs eventually lost 3-2.
Since his introduction to the role Moriri has also accumulated enough yellow cards to warrant his suspension from the Brazilians' last PSL clash against Moroka Swallows - a match Neeskens men won 4-0.
The former Bafana Bafana hitman then returned for the second-leg of the Wafa Wafa encounter, which saw Sundowns suffer elimination from the R8 million showpiece.
However, Neeskens believes the player has put in some impressive showings in his new found role, and the former Silver Stars ace looks likely to continue there when Downs take on Bidvest Wits next week.
"We as coaches have to look at the best quality and balance of the team and I think he has done well in the games that he has played in that role," said the Dutch coach told the PSL's official website in response to questions about Moriri's future in midfield.
