Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott says their victory over University of Pretoria at the weekend gives them confidence ahead of facing SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.

Ajax continued their winning run when they defeated AmaTuks 2-0 in an Absa Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium last Friday.

Scott and Tashreeq Morris were on target for Roger De Sa’s men as they kept their top 8 dream alive.

Scott also hinted that De Sa’s tactics worked on the night as they managed to break their three-year hoodoo against the Students.

“I think the game was level pegging, hard running and tough,” said Scott.

“Both teams were going at each other from the beginning of the game until the end.

“But in the end, we have put in two great goals in the second and I also got one.

“The coach’s tactics were very spot on that’s why we won this game.

“Tuks always gave us tough times in the past, especially playing them away from home.

“And now we were boosted by our home ground advantage.

“We are now in the semis of the Nedbank Cup and this win will be a morale booster for us.

“We’ll be confident heading into the clash against SuperSport United.”

Ajax will host Matsatsantsa in a quest for the final spot of the R7m competition on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:15.
