Mohlala wants to become a Leopard

One of the finest over-lapping left fullbacks in the country, Jethro “Lovers” Mohlala, is strongly rumoured to be headed for the beleaguered Black Leopards after getting his clearance from AmaZulu.

The Alexandra-born defender turned professional with Bidvest Wits University before crossing the floor to join Mamelodi Sundowns where he established himself as an attacking left fullback in the all-conquering Sundowns side of the late 1990s.

However, something went wrong and he found himself out of the picture at Sundowns, drifting to Moroka Swallows and many other teams, until eventually landing in Durban at AmaZulu, for whom he played a key role in their fight to avoid relegation last season.

Earlier this year he appeared to have a fall-out with management and, after spending a couple of weeks on the sidelines, he was eventually given his clearance as free agent.

A source close to the player revealed that Mohlala has been offered a short-term contract until the end of the season with the hope that his experience could help the Thohoyandou side beat the drop to the lower division.
