Modise set for Downs deal

Johannesburg - Teko Modise will begin talks with Mamelodi Sundowns over a new
contract next week, according to the veteran midfielder's
representative.
According to the football411.com website, Modise joined the Brazilians from Orlando Pirates in 2010, although his current deal at Chloorkop is set to expire in June.
However, the playmaker, who was a surprise omission from the
Bafana Bafana squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, will hold
contract extension talks with Sundowns on either Monday or Tuesday,
according to agent Jazzman Mahlakgane.
"I had a chat with Yugesh Singh (Sundowns legal adviser) to talk
about Tsholofelo (Modise). There will be no problems at all," Mahlakgane
told The Sowetan.
"I think we will meet on either January 7 or 8 with Yugesh,
depending on his schedule. We are quite confident Tsholofelo will still
be with Sundowns next season.
"He is enjoying his football and wants to help Sundowns win
trophies. It's good that we will be dealing with his new contract at a
time when Sundowns are doing well in the league campaign after a poor
start to the season."
Mahlakgane went on to reveal another of his clients, Punch Masenamela, is also set for a new deal with the Tshwane giants.
"Just like Tsholofelo, Punch has been doing well at Sundowns and
wants to remain with the club. I do not anticipate problems with his
deal," he added.
"Sundowns are professionals. They are one of the PSL clubs it is lovely doing a deal for a player with."
