Modise satisfied with progress

Cape Town - With Mamelodi Sundowns looking to put up a better challenge for the Premiership title, Teko Modise is pleased with the team's progress in pre-season.

Sundowns last season failed to defend their title as Kaizer Chiefs comfortably claimed the crown by a comprehensive 12-point margin.

During their pre-season, Sundowns had a tour of Zambia and at the weekend won the Etv Charity Showdown competition, beating Ajax Cape Town 3-1 in the final.

"It was great to win the Charity Showdown. This shows that we are going in the right direction concerning our preparations for the upcoming season," Modise said on his website.

"Such matches increase the confidence in the players to ensure that we are mentally and physically prepared to kick-off the 2015/2016 season."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
