Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise admits that winning the Premier Soccer League title would be a dream come true.
According to the football411 website, the 31-year-old has only ever won one piece of domestic silverware, the Telkom Charity Cup in 2008/09 while he was at Orlando Pirates, but Modise is now on the verge of landing the country's biggest prize.
Heading into the final stages of the season, the Brazilians hold a four-point lead over Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the table, with the Glamour Boys having a game in hand.
With the title in reach, Modise reveals that winning the league crown would be one of the highlights of his career.
"I have spent a lot of years playing in the PSL and I have not yet lifted the title. That dream for me is still do be realised and I think that this season I and my team mates have a chance to make it come true," Modise told his official website.
"It is sometimes sad when I think that I have spent at least seven years in my career and I have not played in the CAF tournament and you find players that just join a team for six months and they get the chance.
"So I think it is has been long overdue and with the help of my team mates we can make sure that we win the league this season. We have played well and are in a good place on the league table. We just have to stay humble and finish off the season. Like I have mentioned before, we are left with two finals against Supersport United and Maritzburg United."
