Cape Town - Teko Modise hopes that there are more positive football games around the corner for Mamelodi Sundowns.

“It was a great weekend full of action regarding football. Yes we are through to the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup and it feels good to say that,” said the midfielder on his website.

“Going to the weekend was a very unpredictable situation. We knew that we had to bring our A game against Platinum Stars especially because we were playing in their backyard. The team went into that match knowing what we had to do in order to clinch a win and luckily we were victorious.

“The FIFA international break is upon us and that will afford us resting time. The national team (Bafana Bafana) is scheduled to play against Swaziland (25 March 2015) before taking on Nigeria at the Mbombela Stadium four days later. I hope they make the nation proud and show signs of improvement as we build towards a bright future.

“As for me and the team, we will be preparing for the return leg against TP Mazembe away from home. The fixture is scheduled for 4 April 2015. Then four days later we will be back home ready to play Black Aces in the Absa Premiership.

“Until then the war rages on and the Masandawana nation should believe that there is more positive football to come.”
