Modise eyes Bafana return

Johannesburg - Teko Modise has underlined the importance of Mamelodi Sundowns once again becoming a dominant force in South African football.

Speaking at the launch of the Brazilians' new kit on Tuesday, Modise revealed his personal desire to force his way back into the Bafana Bafana side by helping Sundowns win the Premier Soccer League.

Modise is excited to be preparing for the new season under a boss that understands the club's attacking philosophy, in Johan Neeskens, and is adamant if the players raise their game they will achieve their aims.

Modise said: "I'm really looking forward to the new 2011/12 Absa premiership season. We have a new coach who understands our philosophy and hopefully with the brand of football we will be dishing out this season good results can be achieved.

"The whole aim for the team is to obviously do well and bring the league title home. Our supporters have been disappointed enough and I think it's high time we bring that winning mentality back to Sundowns.

"Our league positing from last season was not good at all and now with the fierce competition that is out there from other teams, we have to make sure that we raise the standard and try to be the superior team out of all the PSL sides.

"On a personal note I want to make sure that I play as many games for the team and go back to the national team."
