Modise took to his official website to speak about how he felt after their 2-1 MTN8 loss to Platinum Stars.

“We could have done better on the day but were unfortunate. It was not our day as it is always hard to fight back when you are chasing the game,” said Modise.

Modise scored the only goal for Brazilians but it was a little too late for a comeback as Dikwena now face Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-final.

“It is football and sometimes that is just how the cookie crumbles. No one goes to a game and plans to lose it.”

“We went out there to win the game but were unlucky. There will be other competitions to compete for, we will just have to go and rectify our mistakes and make sure they never happen again.”

Sundowns kick-off their PSL title defence against Maritzburg United on Friday, August 8 at 20:00.
