Mkhwanazi to stay put

Cape Town - University of Pretoria coach Steve Barker insists the club will not be selling Bafana Bafana centre-back Buhle Mkhwanazi.

The highly rated defender, who impressed on the recent tour of Australasia, is rumoured to be a target of Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, as well as big-spending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Barker, however, maintains the 24-year-old is staying put.

“We will be not be engaging any team regarding Mkhwanazi, he is not going anywhere,” Barker told KickOff.com website.

“We've reached a stage where we are stable and we need to compete in the League, and for us to do so, we need to keep our best players.”

Mkhwanazi is contracted to the club until June 2016.

Meanwhile, Barker revealed he is likely to announce some new signings before the end of the week.
