Cape Town - New Free State Stars coach Ernst Middendorp is not satisfied with the impressive turnaround the club has made since his arrival and is still searching for more.
The German took over from Malawian Kinnah Phiri last month and has yet to lose a game, winning three out of four matches and drawing the other.
That form has catapulted Ea Lla Koto from last to 10th in the Premiership table, while they are also through to the last eight in the Telkom Knockout after beating big-spending Bidvest Wits.
"The reaction since I've been here has been good, the energy has been good and they've reacted positively to all the analytical work we are doing, showing them what's right and what's not," Middendorp said.
"We won't say they are there yet because there is still space for improvement, but so far we have done okay."
What has made their turnaround even better is that they have done it without Moeketsi Sekola, who had been out with injury until returning recently.
In the Bafana Bafana man's absence, the likes of Belgian Andrea Fileccia and Danny Venter have thrived.
Middendorp is happy with the squad assembled in Bethlehem, adding that his main job since arriving has been to get the tactics of the team correct.
"There is a good squad here at Free State Stars and physically they are very good," he stated.
"What we need to work on is the tactical aspect of their game and take them in the right direction."
