Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has called on his team-mates to forget their recent PSL struggles and focus on their crucial CAF Champions League clash against TP Mazembe on Sunday.
Pirates crashed to a surprise 1-0 home defeat to strugglers Chippa United on Tuesday to leave their title hopes in tatters.
However, Meyiwa said they must "man up" and get ready for the crucial encounter in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“We are obviously disappointed with the result against Chippa United on Tuesday but we cannot cry over that defeat forever,” the 25-year-old Meyiwa told Pirates' website.
“We have to regroup and make sure that we double our efforts for the big game against TP Mazembe over the weekend.
“Our match against Mazembe is a tough assignment so we will need the team to be focussed and ready for that battle.
“I am confident we will recover in time to face Mazembe, we cannot mourn or blame people for losing to Chippa but let’s look ahead and get ready for another fight.”
Pirates are currently third on the PSL table, seven behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs with three games left.
