Cape Town - Despite only arriving at Orlando Pirates just over a month ago, Luvuyo Memela has impressed coach Eric Tinkler enough to be included in the CAF Confederation Cup squad.
The 27-year-old joined the Buccaneers from National First Division outfit Cape Town Allstars and has made an instant impact on Tinkler and the squad.
His inclusion in the touring party to Tunisia for their second group game against CS Sfaxien on Sunday night was a surprise to many, but Tinkler has been impressed with the attacker's work rate and goal-scoring ability in pre-season training.
"Luvuyo has done exceptionally well during the pre-season," Tinkler told KickOff.
"What I have noticed is he is a goal scorer. He is not only a winger, he likes to go forward.
"He likes to get into scoring positions. We had five spaces and it made sense to bring in a left-footed player.
The Sea Robbers are desperate for a win on Sunday after losing their first group game 2-1 to soon-to-be-crowned Egyptian champions Zamalek at home earlier this month.
