Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates have confirmed that the knock sustained by striker Collins Mbesuma is not as serious as initially feared.
According to the Buccaneers official website, team doctor Lazurus Molefi says that Mbesuma sustained a twisted ankle in their MTN8 triumph over SuperSport United and was taken off because of the initial swelling.
"Collins is fine, the injury is not as serious.
"There are no structural damages to his ankle.
"It was just a twist and it should take two to three days for him to get back to normal," said Dr Molefi.
It was also revealed that defender Rooi Mahamutsa will have to undergo scans after picking a hamstring injury.
"Rooi is the only player that is injured after Sunday’s match.
"He will have to see a specialist to determine the full extent of his injury."
Other players who have also twisted their ankles in that match are Andile Jali and forward Sifiso Myeni.
"Sifiso and Jali are okay - they also complained of sore ankles but it is nothing serious," concluded Dr Moelfi.
