Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates striker Collins Mbesuma claims he is now in better
shape than ever before and expects to hit the back of the net on a more
regular basis.
Mbesuma, who scored a sensational 35 goals for Kaizer Chiefs
during the 2004/05 season, has regularly been on the score sheet for the
Buccaneers since joining in the off-season, and insists there is more
to come.
"As a striker, I always aim to be the top scorer," Mbesuma told Football411.
"And I think I'm fully fit and I have a better understanding with my
team-mates so I think this puts me in a position where I can get the
goals more regularly. I feel I can score more."
The Zambia international, who signed a three-year deal from
Golden Arrows in August, has scored four goals for the Soweto giants
this season and is delighted with his start.
"It was easy to settle in because I'm surrounded by good
professionals. I'm really enjoying myself at Pirates and I feel really
good. I want to help this team win trophies again," Mbesuma added.
The burly forward is expected to be in action on Sunday when
Pirates take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout
quarter-finals.
