Mbesuma brace hands Aces win

Cape Town - A brace from Collins Mbesuma handed MP Black Aces a come from behind 2-1 win over Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership encounter on Wednesday night at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

Despite Arrows taking an early lead they could not stop Aces from securing victory and maintaining their unbeaten run in the league.

In the 13th minute Hotto gave Arrows the lead when he turned home a pass from Gladwin Shitolo.

Aces started to mount a comeback and found the equalising goal in the 32nd minute when Mbesuma produced a clinical finish from just inside the box.

The away team continued to push forward, but could not find another goal before the break.

Four minutes into the second half Mbesuma scored his second of the night and gave Aces the lead after turning home an inch perfect pass from Thanduyise Khuboni.

Arrows took control of the game after that and pressed forward in their numbers, but they struggled to find an equalising goal.

The last and probably best opportunity fell in the dying minutes of the match when Thembela Sikhakhane saw his stinging shot from the edge of the box well-saved by the keeper.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
