Mayambela: Players must make fans smile

Cape Town - Mark Mayambela believes footballers have a responsibility to turn on the style for their supporters.

‘The Dribbling Wizard’ is back in the PSL to the delight of fans across the country and spoke to Sport24 about the philosophy that he bases his game on.

While many players set their sights purely on victory, and some just on money, Mayambela suggests that a footballer ought to be playing to put a smile on the face of whoever gives up their time and money to watch.

“Soccer lovers always holds a special place in my heart as they sacrifice their time and hard-earned money to watch their respective teams, and I think it is upon us as footballers to make their time worthwhile,” ‘Professor’ said.

When asked about his hopes for the upcoming season he simply said: “Exciting times are ahead.”
